Spectrum is notorious for having errors often, and one of the most common one is the 1002 error. The reason Spectrum throws this error code on is probably your Spectrum application is handling more than it should. This can work both ways, where there are a lot of videos that are streaming from the same login ID, from various devices. Or, the application installed on your Roku device is not installed properly. Is my internet connection alright?

First things, please try to play some other channel on your Roku. If the other channels can be streamed without any trouble, then there is no issue with the internet connection. If it is not, then it means the problem is not restricted to Spectrum Error Code WUC-1002, but your entire Roku internet connection. So, go ahead and try streaming from some other device connected to the same internet connection. If you are able to stream content from the device, then it means there is no connection with the internet but the Roku device. For this, you might want to reset the whole connection. But if have trouble streaming even from other devices, it probably means that you have some issues with the internet connection, so please make sure that the internet connection is fixed.

How do I fix Spectrum Error Code WUC-1002?

If you, by the previous experiment, found that the issue is with your Spectrum application, then please continue with this flow.

  1. Please go to your Roku channel list, and select Spectrum application and choose to remove the application from the list of Roku channels you own.
  2. Now that the Spectrum application has been removed from the list of channels, please go to the Roku channel application store.
  3. In there, search for the Spectrum channel.
  4. From the search result, please download the channel application and install it again.

There are chances that the application is not installed right, and you might run into the same Spectrum Error Code WUC-1002 again.

How to fix my Roku internet connection issue?

If more that one channel application on your Roku device throws the same error, then it might be a pan Roku problem, and one of the ways to deal with it is to reset the connection. But for this, you will have to disconnect and undo the setup first. Then, please switch off your TV. Now that your TV is turned and switched off, please unplug the Roku device from power as well. If you have your Roku connected to your TV via HDMI, please disconnect the Roku device from the TV. Now that Roku and your TV are disconnected from each other, please disconnect the internet router from power as well. Leave the entire set up turned off for the next couple of minutes. Now, please connect your Roku device to the TV again and switch on the TV. This almost always solves Spectrum Error Code WUC-1002.
